Marcello Manca is Vice President of Government and Industry Affairs, EU, working for UL since 1999. He has a 35-year history of working within conformity assessment, on both sides of the Atlantic, and on both sides of the process – as an industry representative, and as a TIC-industry operator. In his tenure he has worked on a vast array of product categories, including Appliances, Lighting, ITC equipment, Power/Energy/Controls, Plastics, including the component and supply chain levels; he has operated in certification schemes for access to US, Canada, Europe, China, Australia, Brasil, Russia, etc, across platforms that include safety, EMC, environment, energy efficiency, and performance. Manca holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno (1981).
