Tamara Miller joined the Consumer Product Safety Directorate as the Director of the Program Development Bureau in 2013.  In this capacity, she is responsible for a broad range of cross-cutting consumer product safety issues including international and intergovernmental engagement, consumer and industry outreach, as well as providing strategic advice and oversight for policy, legislative and regulatory affairs and activities in the consumer product safety portfolio.

Tamara has been with the Canadian federal government since 1997 in a broad range of departments and portfolios, and for the last 8 years as an executive in the strategic and operational policy fields.  Her career has been focused in the area of strategic policy and regulatory development.  Tamara holds a Ph.D. from the University of Manitoba with a specialization in Canadian public health policy.
